Yesterday I found a True Temper Kelly Worls Anniversary DB in pretty good condition. I can't seem to find much info on this particular 'Anniversary' axe. Can anyone shed any light on this or point me in the right direction.

Sweet looking axe. Hardly used. Sorry, I can't shed any light on the date of an Anniversary axe.

I see "ANNIVERSARY" stamped axes come up on that auction sight. Maybe there is a connection there with Kelly?
I have been wondering who made them for awhile now.
Here is a picture of one that went through that sight. Not mine. You can see a date on it from what's left of the paper label. I am not at all sure Kelly made it.

I think those ones are probably from the Geo. Worthington Co.

George Worthington (September 21, 1813 – November 9, 1871) was a 19th-century merchant and banker in Cleveland, Ohio, who founded the Geo. Worthington Company, a wholesale hardware and industrial distribution firm, in 1829 (until 1991 Cleveland's oldest extant business)... Wikipedia

There are some mentions of an Anniversary crosscut saw from Worthington:

The "Anniversary" brand was still listed for Worthington in 1941, for a bunch of items including axes:

Haha, I like trees but I'm not into other people's family trees. :D

I had no luck at finding something significant about the True Value Kelly Works Anniversary axes.

Thanks for the info, Steve!!!

I was way off in my thinking. I was imagining this to be celebrating and Anniversary...not Anniversary being the brand. Still so much to learn.

This is one of my favorite finds, so far. I was walking through an antique mall I check frequently, passing a booth that has shelf after shelf of colored glass and the like. I happen to catch a glimpse of a handle...I picked it up and much to my surprise this is what I found. then to find out it was also 20% off the price when I went to the register!!!
