I've been working on this tommy axe restoration for a friend and his charity that, in part, helps funds seeing / guide dogs. The cost can be prohibitive for many people. This axe will be auctioned off at their charity dinner in November. It is hung on a 19" hickory "Hudson bay style handle from the Hickory Handle store. I have no affiliation with HHS but like their stuff. Mark is a great guy to work with. Personally, I think Tennessee Hickory products are really good quality. Lots of work to trim them down, but worth it sometimes.

Just wondering why you removed the claws. It's a great looking axe. It should be an excellent tool. I'm sure it will do well at an auction. Did you see the one that was recently on everyone's favorite auction site? It was NIB and still had the box. Pretty impressive but priced outside my range.

Nice job on the refinish. Another great tool saved for future use.
