I hung one a few months back, but, mine is intact with the nail puller fangs. It has become my go to hatchet. Has good steel, and enough weight to back it up!

The one without the claws is probably the "True Temper Tomahawk":

Here are a few hatchets from the True Temper "Dynamic" line. One "Tomahawk" and two nearly identical "Dynamic Hatchets". One hatchet is marked DH and the other DHF. The DH must be short for Dynamic Hatchet and maybe the F designates a later generation.

I dug up some old ads from the early forties.

It looks like the "Dynamic" product line consisted of the Dynamic hatchet, the Tomahawk, the Tommy axe, and the Super Dynamic hammer.

yes, the Tommy or Tomahawk. i can read a little bit of the label. it says Woodsman.
one is marked THF
the other has a paper label. there is a slight difference in length of bit but otherwise pretty much the same. great hard steel. well made and hung both of them.

I've got a TT tomahawk as well. Great hatchet, nice weight and length on the handle (not sure if mine is original, it's an nice slim octagonal). I can see people re-hanging one on a slightly longer handle for a cheaper alternative to the GB small forest axe. I haven't used the tommy axe but it seems like it would be equally useful without the claw, and moreso with the claw if you're in to using duplex nails on the campsite.

Creek_Stomper,
same idea here. the steel and hardness remind of the GB/Wetterlings bits. the weight is similar also. both of my Tommy's have original handles, one is slightly octy up by the throat but smooth the rest of the way. unusual handle for sure.

That partial octagoning is typical of original Tommy handles. I've seen it numerous times including on my own Tommy Axe.

I have a TT Tomahawk and Dynamic, neither one is on the original haft, but they both cut like the dickens. I use the Dynamic more, the long 18" haft I put on and it's greater weight make it a formidable chopper and wedge shape makes it a great splitter. The hardened hammer poll is icing on the cake.

Here is a Dynamic with an original haft. Its very strange. Its like they just flattened both sides of the handle but stopped short of doing it full length.
