Hello everyone! I found this axe at a garage sale today. Thought it looked good besides some dings in the toe, which should sharpen out with time. I know absolutely nothing about older axes, other than a couple of the big brand names from back in the day. From what I can read off the remaining sticker, this looks like a True Temper Woodsman. I don't see any stamps, but I did see an old post on Reddit mentioning ridges in the eye, this one has 6, so it may be from 1958-1968 according to that comment? I wasn't able to find much through Google. Really just curious about what I have, plan on using it either way. Anyone able to share any more knowledge on this axe? Also, does anyone recognize the sheath, or know if it's original? Thanks for any help and info!

All I can say is true temper is good stuff and I like it. I would not hesitate to pick one up at a good price.

That's why I grabbed it, I at least recognized the True Temper name, and it was only $20, can't complain there.

Wow, thanks for this! Crazy that it's from the 60s, considering the finish is mostly intact and the sticker is even still legible. I was concerned about how much material might have been removed in it's lifetime, but comparing the photos to mine, it looks like this axe should have plenty of life left! Wonder why the one in your link is double stickered, maybe they sold it under different names in different countries? Very interesting info, thank you again!
