I finally found a handle of the shape and thickness I like for my True Temp Tomahawk axe head.

Does anyone know anything about this axe head? Age? Quality? Etc?

This one doesn't look like it had work done it. I was under the impression the tomahawk heads had claws on the back. Thoughts?

Cute little fella! Likely 50-60 years old. If you're into hunting/fishing and camping this gem (I love that not-to-long-ago aftermarket handle adaptation) will provide great service for you. If merely tossing it around is your 'bag' then maybe you want to look at more recent stuff that is geared specifically for that game.

I went with a 19" straight California Framing handle, coupled with the 28oz head it makes wood chips fly and drives a nail pretty well. I left the old 14" replacement handle on the Tomahawk for a while, if it ever needs replacing I will put on a 19" house handle on it.

I've got one just like that. The handle was shot so I've been trying to figure out what kind of handle I would hang it on. I like that one. The subtle sweep is nice. How does it handle? Pardon the pun.

If you're referring to my Axe I love the handle. It's thin, and feels manageable. By far my favorite handle.

28oz? Are you sure? I had no idea those were that big. That 19" handle is exactly what I would do also. For sure I must own one of these.

I thought I was sure of the 28oz weight, after double checking I find it is listed as 30oz not 28.
