I have a lot of stuff I need to carry in the trunk of my car. No matter what I do the stuff seems to roll around and make a mess. I am looking for suggestions to keep my trunk organized. I was looking at the Uncle Mikes trunk organizer(http://www.uncle-mikes.com/products/trunk_organizer.html), but I cant seem to get any good pictures of one to see its compartments/set up. Anybody ever used one of these? They seem pretty popular as most stores seem sold out of them...

I was going to buy an organizer, but just bought three el cheapo milk crates at Walmart and put them in the trunk.

I keep a few of those Rubbermade totes in the trunk without the lids. They're perfect for keeping grocery bags in place and upright and great for other smaller items. And if I need to move something larger, the totes just stack into each other and stash in the back seat to open the trunk back up. They're also light weight. Remember: the more weight in your trunk, the lower your gas milage. So, the first step is to ask yourself if you really need to carry all that stuff around all of the time.

Helps with traction in the winter though :)

I use a Rubbermaid crate too in the back of my pickup bed (which is capped).

I use a cheap collapsible crate in which I keep the bottle with wiper fluid, a few cleaning cloths, some other stuff and of course a few multitools. It looks like this, but in green.

I was gonna mention these also. I've got three of the regular sized and one mini ones, all black or dark grey. They're great because the collapse flat when you need the extra space for other items.

I guess it depends on what you are carrying. When I worked security patrol, we had this one:

It held:

Fluids
Chain
Traffic cones
Fire boots
FAK
Paperwork

I also threw a handful of flashlights, pens, and granola bars in mine for when I made officer checks.

Honestly, milk crates work cheaper and you can customize the compartments.
