The Exploding Knife Market thread got me thinking. :eek:

You have Thirty Grand that has just fallen from the sky at your feet.

You must spend it on one of the following choices:

A. One Absolutely Gorgeous Loveless Riverside JR Bear with Stag

B. Five Stunning Damascus and Ivory Bowies, one each from Dean, Fisk, Fuegen, Hancock & Newton

C. Your Wife ;)

Feel free to explain your reasoning, if you dare!
 
I vote for the 5 Bowies. I'm married for 25 years now and my wife knows if I'm happy she is or will be happy too:D ;)

Well, I voted for 5 MS Bowies. My spouse knows how much into custom knives I am. And if the 30K fell into my lap, I am going with the thought that all the bills are paid etc.

heck where I come from you can get 3 good wives for that kind of money.

So I'd get two and buy a couple nice forged bowies as well. An exercise in relative value and a lesson in diversification, if you will ;)
 
Of those three choices, the wife of course. I wouldn't have a wife for very long if she found out I spent $30K on a knife. I'm sure she'd let me keep enough to buy a whole mess of knives with after I bought her a bunch of girly junk.

No doubt about it--I'd happily spend it on my wife in a heartbeat.

But what about this question--

If you had to choose between your wife and your collection, you could only have one, which would you choose???

My collection is not nearly as valuable as many here, although I do have a substantial amount in knives, but I still go with my wife. Anybody else???

Just checked the poll. Presently, there are 17 votes and 9 are for the wives. I think there are a bunch of chickens whose wives occasionally check the forums. I know most of you really want to beef up the collections. That is why my vote is for...

Neither. $30k is a big chunk of money, it would go in my retirement fund.
 
5 from the big guys or 10 from Don Hanson.........they would have an MS stamp on them by the time he delivered them if that even matters:D
I am not married, but I too would think about spending it on one of those little hot teenybopper Ukrainian mail order brides.....lol:p
Or I would buy the Loveless if I knew that I could sell it the next day and get enough for the 5 ABS bowies AND the the aforementioned Ukrainian supermodel teenybopper mail order bride....lol
P.S. or a real early 60's Fender Stratocaster
 
My wife gets most of what I make now. Five ABS Mastersmiths would get that $30,000.00 (though I would be sorely tempted by that Loveless).
 
Well, definitely not the Loveless JR Bear. After all, how would I know for sure exactly WHO made it? :p :D
