Hi Folks,

Here is a Pikal Style knife that I just finished up. It is a smallish knife that is comfortable to carry all day long. It is made of CPM-3V with a full height chisel grind. It is comfortable in a variety of grips.

It is designed be as small as possible and yet fulfill its utility and SD role. Since it is small most folks don't even give it a second glance when I wear it openly. It is also small enough that it won't scare the sheeple around here when I use it to cut open caulking tubes, cut plastic bands, trim veneer panels, open boxes and plastic bags, etc....

Constructive criticism appreciated.

i take it this blade is sharpened on the "flat" side? i like the size! good work

Yes, it is sharpened on the flat side and is designed primarily for edge-in (edge facing user) use. It can still be held and used edge out in a hammer grip which I sometimes do when whittling wood or cutting plastic tubing.

It is deployed in a forward grip Pikal as in pic 2.

This knife is basically a reversed edge version of my well used Baby Rhino. I have been testing and using this one for a few months before trying out this new one. The Rhino is a more utility based design.

Thanks Alex. This along with several others that I made in a batch are some knives that I recently tried to make with handle slabs.

I only made 1 other knife before that back in 1999 and it was a japanese style cord wrapped one.

I will try my hands on a mortised type handle soon. But i think I will need a mini mill to mill out the slots in the handle slabs.
