I've decided to try a new EDC to reduce the amount of weight in my pockets. I've reasoned that I can carry my Supertool in my bag, and on my person I will try the Sideclip.
Overall I'm amazed how thin it really is. I miss the longer handles on the ST obviously but this is by far the most compact way I've found to carry a full size pair of pliers. My only wish is that it could have a serrated sheepsfoot blade instead of an extra flathead screwdriver but it's still good how it is.
I'm wondering if I keep my larger multi-tools in my bag and carry a smaller Leatherman tool and a smaller SAK if I can have the best of all worlds... we shall see.
As an aside, I'm curious if anyone has ever tried taking off one of the screws and removing the blade. What would remain would be a folding pair of pliers and a bunch of non-cutting tools. Such a politically correct thing could have its uses. Air travel anybody? The only problem I can see is if you were to do that, the other tools on that side would be unusuable as it seems the blade itself is necessary to hold the whole thing in position. I wonder if you could grind it off or even better grind it down into something else neatly with a Dremel tool.
