A year and a half ago I bought several Rat Cutlery knives including a RC 3, HEST, Izula and a RC 7.
Well... what the heck happened?
I cant find anything on Blade Forum about them.
Im trying to buy another HEST fixed blade but forgot where I got the best deal the first time.
What are the names of the best places to buy the old HEST?
What happened to Rat Cutlery?
Is Busse the only knife company left?
 
RAT Cutlery no known as ESSE Knives no longer makes them.

The R.A.T. knives (including RC 3 & 7) were produced by Ontario Knife Company, the Randall family split away to become ESEE that has their own forum outside BF. Manufacture of the original HEST fixed blade is still done by OKC but is produced for DPx Gear who has outsourced making of their other knives to Lion Steel in Italy. You have the internet, have you heard of Google?

Did you get stuck in the Busse forums? I'm pretty sure there are many, many references just on this forum to knives other than RAT or Busse. Why don't you use Google Shopping? It will show you some of the best deals.
 
thanks i will try goggle shopping....it's been a couple of years since i have shopped for knives and i am suffering from sticker shock!
I thought the price of knives would have gone down or stayed the same but what im finding is a bit surprising.
I have owned and used a number of Rat Cutlery knives for every day carry and the original HEST I found to be best for my needs...sorry I gave it away.
