Hello:
I'm afraid what I have is not all that exciting but I have posted it in another forum and also asked for help from the FOSTERBROSINDEX and it appears I have a stumper... I have a Foster Bros. butchers' knife that looks, for the most part, like every other Foster Bros. butcher's knife of its type. It's about 17" overall and, according to Mr. Sotherden, of the FOSTERBROTHERSINDEX, for all appearances it is a normal Foster Bros. knife except for the five rivets holding the handle (4 pin-type and a center larger rivet), and a logotype etched on the blade that features a stylized steers-head incorporating the Foster Bros. name.
Has anyone else ever seen this stylized insignia and unusual rivet pattern on another Foster Bros. knife? If so, do you know when they were made? Any help would be much appreciated.
