I have both, my opinion is that I like the 920 more than the 801 but the 801 is the better EDC knife.

The 0920 is a wonderful large EDC. I'm not personally interested in the aesthetics of the 0801.

0920 was probably the best flipper I've had. Plus, it has 20CV (I'm not sure what the 801 has). The milling on the 920 actually does a great job of providing grip, and the internal milling makes it a deceptively light knife. I haven't heard any reports of lock issues on the 0920, which is a plus if that's a concern. It is a really nice knife, maybe my favorite ZT, and I think now I've actually managed to also convince myself I need to buy another. The only negative that I might see is if you have trouble sharpening recurves, but I didn't find that to be a problem when I had an 0920, and 20CV sharpens very readily in my experience.

0801 FTW!

I have an original version 0801 and find it amazing. The ergonomics are fantastic; for me the BEST of any knife I’ve handled. The current version is even better, with less angular margins.

The action is perfect with a sweet-spot combination of detent, blade mass, and flipper geometry. The knife also carries smaller than one would think based on size and weight, due to clip positioning and scale contour.

The 0801 is a bit thick behind the edge and a bit heavy, but sometimes that feels good! Even though the current production is a bit lighter, I haven’t “upgraded” because I really like the faux bolster look of the original.

The 0920 has fantastic milling and is light given it’s substantial size. It flips well in its own right, but without the magical resonance of the 0801. It’s 20CV! While I think it’s a great knife, very well priced, and a major “In your face!” to the current invasion of Chinese TFF’s, the recurve kills it for me.

TL;DR—The 0920 is a great knife. The 0801Ti is even better (even if a bit less glamorous).

0920... but I still hate what they did with the spine. I'd probably look more closely at the 0470 for the sake of cutting.

Tough call and looks like the voting is pretty dead even. In situations like this I always suggest getting the one that is most visually appealing to you. Regardless they are both great knives. Added some side by side pics to hopefully help you in your decision.

Both are great knives. The 920 is larger but carries quite light and well for its size.

I guess it comes down to which designer’s aesthetic you like better. Can’t really go wrong with either.

Weight is close enough that difference is negligible.
