I have a 940. been thinking about getn a 710 too. It is the only one that really sticks out to me for price and design. I watched a couple reviews that said the handles are not as "gripy" as they look -not that big of a deal though.

I'd personally take a Mini Hardtail or a 14200 series model over the 710. But the 710 is definitely the most popular BM model on these forums.

The 710 is a classic. It was the first Benchmade I purchased back in 2002.

Of the Benchmade line, the 710 is the current "classic" design.

I have come to use the 710 as my standard for comparing folders. Not the best in all categories, but it performs well enough to be my favorite for EDC.

The Hardtail is another good design that gives the 710 a run for the crown, but it is bigger in pocket. More expensive at the moment, too.

Or, if you can find one at a decent price, you might want to look at the Rukus, full or mini size. These are getting sorta hard to get at a decent price at the moment, but are decent users IMO.

+1

The 520 is a nice one too, but always found to be a bit heavy.

The 14205 is a good choice for a thick blade, G10 scales and steel liners + axis. I like it very much. This one and the smaller 14210.
