Hey all,
I'm trying to figure this out. While doing my standard surf through the annals of ebay, I found this post. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2113731234
The seller claims that this beautiful blade by D'Holder is the blade that was made for the movie "Last of the Dogmen". As I recall, the knife in that film was one of Dick Patton's Bowies.
Can anybody clear this up for me or is the guy selling this knife confused or trying to scam?
Doc

the movie knife was definitly a Patton knife. I know this for sure as I asked Rob himself:)

If I can make it to the AKCA meeting next Tuesday I'll ask D' himself and let you know. It all depends on how late I've got to work that night.

Thanks Bill and Burk,
I'm not in the running to actually buy this one. It's a beautiful knife and I'm sure it is worth a goodly amount. I'm more concerned over folks representing a knife as something it isn't for profit.
If this guy doesn't know then I can understand it. At the same time, if he is going to use the "Last of the Dogmen" movie as a selling point, I think he needs to check his facts first and correct the advertisement when corrected.
I sent him an email basically asking him the same question that I posted here. I'm awaiting an answer but not holding my breath. With less than 10 hours left on the auction, I doubt he will care.
Looks to be pulling a pretty fair price.
Another possibility is that D'Holder did in fact make this knife for the movie and the Property Master chose the Patton instead. They may have had several makers produce blades in some form of a competition.

D' is the President of the AKCA (Arizona Knife Collector's Association) so he'll definitely be there at the meeting Tuesday. Might as well get the answer straight from the man who should know.
