I once saw a knife at a gun show about 6 years ago, at either the Timonium or Pikesville, MD show. It was a custom, I think it had Ti handles and a 440 blade I beleive...the price was $450. Is there a place on the internet or elsewhere that would have a large collection of pics of knives...I'd know it if I saw it. Thanks to all, I know this is a shot in the dark...

Welcome to the forums.

Try ebay.com. There are probably 12,000 knives trading at any point in time.

Howdy Ouch,

Tip o the bonnet to ya...you're in the right crowd, hope you enjoy yourself here.

You may be a short timer to bf but I can read into your post that you are a certified/certifiable knife knut...lookin for a blade that brought a twinkle in your eye 6 years ago...I bet you've spent more than a few moments thinking bout that blade on that table....now thats ANTICIPATION.

Best of luck in your search, sometimes the hunt's as good as the prize.

Ouch, I've been going to the Timonium show for almost that long. However, your description is way to vague to enable anyone to give you even a guess about the knife you mean.

As far as internet sites go, for custom knives in that price range, look at

www.knifeart.com
www.robertsoncustomcutlery.com
www.nordicknives.com
www.arizonacustomknives.com
www.bladegallery.com

Just for starters

Once you get a whiff of the maker's name or the name of the knife model itself, try www.google.com as a search engine to root out any more info...works for me.

Paracelsus,
Seems to me it was a double grind(? plain edge with the top sharpened about 1/3 the way), the guy also had some Kershaws (I bought a liner action)and a few Mel Perdue's.
I had his card for a long time but can't find it now. :-(
Thanks to all for help in my 'quest'.

Ouch- welcome to the forums! If you click on the links here, then click on Custom Makers you'll find an amazing amount of sites to browse and you might just find what you are looking for. Good luck in your search.

What is this existential quandry all about anyway?

I'll let ya'll know if I find it. I still don't have the money do get something like that (reflection upon moment at that time: should have purchased the knife BEFORE she was my wife);-) But if I find it I'm sure gonna start saving my pennies.

Ouch, that knife is Gone man. Let the interest it inspired guide you in your Search for the Perfect Knife. All of us here at BFC are certified Knife Knutts. That means we are all on a Quest for the Ultimate Knife. Welcome brother.

We are also quite different from the Sheeple. We know Who we are and What they are. But it is best not to let them know who we are sometimes.

You keep thinking you have found it. But then you see it somewhere else in another form. The goal is to have them All. Any single knife is really quite unimportant.

Start clicking the links I and others gave you. Sit. Look. Drool. And think.

Then surrender to it...
