Trying to find LB7 WW2 Marine Corps Knife

I haven't seen one like that Tim.
I have a wood handled LB7 with the Marine Corps eagle, globe & anchor inlaid like a shield in the handle. It is a prototype #0000 form the factory sale.

Tim and Orvet,
Being a retired Marine myself, I would very much like to see what these knives look like if you could please post pictures. PLEASE?!!!:D

Thanks,

Dave

Semper Fi Dave.

I am helping at a Veteran's booth at the state fair this week. It sort of has me worn out. I will have to dig out the knife, as it is put away, and take a scan.

If I don't post a pic by Tuesday next week, please give me a reminder. You can email me off my profile. It looks like a long & busy weekend, so I probably won't get to it until Tuesday.

I know I have a pic of it somewhere in my files, but I can't find it now.

Sure Dave, they are among the most beautiful peices ever made by Schrade and the full 7 peice sets used to have a recommended retail value from Schrade of $3000 US but not all of the sets sold prior to Schrades closure. Below is a link to a thread with photos of a nice white bone set. It doesnt show the detail on the blade that well so Ill post some photos of mine latter.
Kind Regards Tim

Thanks guys! The set in that link is VERY sweet! I'd LOVE to find one of those sets. Doubt it will ever be my luck though.

I think Ive seen 3 perhaps 4 full sets for sale on USA ebay in the last 2.5 years some of them didnt sell even at around $1500 $2000 which is very cheap. Its still alot of money for the average person to pay all at once including me, Also the prospect of handing over that that much money all at once to someone on ebay before recieving the item scares alot of people as it would me. Lots of sellers do sell the peices individually. I myself would have been happy with just a few examples from the set i was just fortunate to be able to find them all over a few years.

The person who is selling this one (ebay item 290155259762) may have a few or more? Id suggest perhaps contacting her, Ive purchased a couple of items off her recently.
Kind Regards Tim

Here is my Marine Corps LB7.
It came from the factory sale, and is apparently a prototype.

Unfortunately, before I got this knife it was kept in the sheath and the snap scratch the bolster.

Tim,
I have tried to answer your email, but all of the addresses come back with the message "your message could not be delivered."

Got any suggestions?

Thats strange, I guess you could try and contact me through the regular email service on the forums and see if that works. Thanks for posting the photo.

Dale,
Very nice knife there! I have bought 2 LB7s with the same theme, one US Army, the other US Navy. They both have "If you love your freedom, thank a vet" actually cut/engraved into the back side of the handle. The blade is etched with the service emblem. I keep looking for the Marine one, but no luck so far.

This was an SFO for the QVC, the "Salute to the Services" in 1994. Four knives, QVC7A, QVC7AF, QVC7M, and QVC7N. My notes show orders for only 40 knives each initially. The artwork was supplied by Kelly Dunton. Retail MSRP was not stated, but with a distributor price of $45 (FOB), retail would have been about $90.00. Production may well have gone beyond this special factory order. QVC was also the customer for the WWII Commemorative knife sets.

Tim,
Email re-sent through BF.

Dave,
Mine does not have any engraving of the wood on the back, just the blade etch on the mark side.

Michael,
Thanks for the info on the knives.
