Just picked up a Schrade Imperial IMP15T Trapper. All i can find out about the blades are that they are Stainless Steel. So are the bolsters, springs, liners, and shield I want to know more about the blade steel.
Thanks,

The modern ones made overseas are claimed to be 3Cr13. At least according to some listings.
What he says.

Pre 2004 "Imperial" branded knives were pretty much all 1095 carbon steel.
Some Imperial sub brands, such as Frontier, had some models with stainless.
For example: The Frontier "Double Eagle" line are equipped with stainless blades. The standard Frontier line are solid bolster with carbon steel blades.
I am not familiar with the IKCO (Imperial Knife Company) sub brand, so I cannot comment on them.

Starting around 1956 Imperial branded knives used clamshell/hollow bolster construction. (Similar to what a VIC/Werner SAK has.)
The "bolsters" and "covers" are one piece, and clipped on.
A tell-tail sign any Imperial branded knife IS a hollow bolster; in a photo, or from a distance: NO VISIBLE CENTER PIN.
