Trying to identify a Buck

Hey buck experts..

There is a forum member here (can't remember his name right now) who has a buck fixed blade I really like but cant seem to find it. He posts pics of it from time to time. Heck I dont even know what its official name is.

Basically it's the handle of a Nighthawk, with a satin finish spear point looking blade. Any ideas?

Wow! Sweet collection John. I really Like my Nighthawk (I have the basic green/black handle, 6in black PE blade). I've had it for several years.

Ohen, thanks for that link. That's the one!!! So what's the deal.. Not made anymore? hard to find?

Where did you get the PE short satin nighthawk john? i really like the black handle one too. (I'm guessing those are discontinued?)

The Pigstickers are still around. Sle-bay usually has some one hand, worth a look there. Pretty impressive knife for the money in my mind! May let mine go one day since I got a larger Buck to replace it with now.
 
Let me know if/when yo decide to let it go ;)

USA made 420HC is it?

btw, just saw one on ebay for like $97. Not sure I want one that bad.... :)
 
Wolfjohn, No 653? All the others look great. Jake, I won't tell you how much I paid for my pigsticker.
 
I bought mine off the bay when they were being sold a couple at a time and we couldn't figure where they coming from. I paid $48.50 for mine.
 
I didn't do as well but got mine after the HooRaa was over too.
$62 + s&h. And still I have no idea what in the world I'm going to do with it other than just have it. Someone said something about digging up gophers.:eek:
 
there are still less then 80 in the usa
i think we hbave accounted for
about 50 after the first guess of 20 some ..
for a issue with less the 100 sold in the usa
they are still a good price

buck sold then for 80$ out the store
then word was that the store sold out after selling some then
the price went up as less the 30 were known to have sold from the store
then some one at buck sold 40 to 50 to one dealer for the price of ....
25$ each! which was why the store was out..
he sold them at first BIN for 37$
after selling 4 in one hr or so he went to 60 some..
every so offten he will still list one at 80 to 90

I bought mine to go with my other three NightHawks I have and it was a steal at the price.

That was a deal, I picked up 3 from that seller...then I noticed his re-listing prices climbing higher
 
it was not tell later that i found out what happened
why the the store said they sold only 30 or less and were out..
yes i tryed to scarf on that fellow but he went up faster then i could watch ..
paid over 80 for the one i had
 
edbeau, I followed the links to your pic's and they are really outstanding, it looks like the are posed on a translucent table top. What are you using for a camera/lens setup?
 
A old 4 megapixel Kodak DX7440. The table is out on the deck in a screen tent. Really need to take some updated pictures.
