Trying to identify a SOG knife

I'm looking for some help on a SOG Desert Dagger I just acquired. I've been looking at picking up one for a while now and happened across a store that had a "limited edition" version with a leather-wrapped handle. All the dimensions are the same as a normal DD but it has a brass crossguard, leather-wrapped handled and what I assume is an aluminum endcap. It also as 014 stamped on the crossguard. I've searched the internet and various knife forums and can't find any mention of this model. Has anyone run across such a model and (maybe too late, but I have to know) is the $120 I paid for it a fair price?

In reading my post, I realized a slight error in describing the Desert Dagger - it has a leather-stacked handle, not a leather-wrapped handle. That's what I get for going on vacation. Obviously my brain was on vacation as well.

Kirch,

You did get a steal! The knife you are describing was a limited production knife in a four knife series made in the early to mid-90's. The Government and Desert Dagger came as you described with leather stacked handle, brass crossguard, and aluminum butt cap. The NW Ranger and Pentagon came with Cocobolo wood handles.

Only 250 were produced and MSRP was in the $130 range. These are truly collector's items, especially in mint condition. Not being a collector of rare knives, I can't comment on their worth, but their appraised value would be something well above MSRP.

Hope this helps!
