Not a lot to tell from your photos. In order to identify the sword we need to see the sword.
Clear sharp images of the tang both sides, Full views of both sides of the bare sword, close-ups of any inscriptions which may be on the tang, close ups of the tip (yes, both sides), any obvious damage or close ups of the temper line etc., etc..
Oh, and most importantly, if there are any inscriptions on the tang, orient the photos correctly. The signatures are read in the tip up, and the tang down position.
It looks to be a Japanese sword, nasty chip at the yokote.
The Knot/Tassle thingy is not original at all !!! Looks like it came off someones curtains. Toss it, please !
The tsuba(Guard) has had the patination cleaned/ground/polished away, making it worthless in regards to collectability. (Hope the nakago or tang doesn't look like that).
