Trying to leave feedback

Tried several times over the past 3 days to leave well deserved positive feedback for @LRG but I keep getting an error saying I can only leave feedback for someone that originated the post(which he did, I'll post a screen shot of the error message). Here's the link to HIS for sale post...

I have successfully left positive feedback for others since the software change but for some reason it's not letting me now...

I might be mistaken, but as far as I have come to understand so far (correct me if I am wrong):

If you buy something from a sales thread and want to leave feedback, you MUST post in the thread. The software detects you as a participant and provides proof of purchase, thus allowing you to leave a feedback score. Silent buyers will not be able to leave feedback otherwise, so participating in the thread "I'll take it" will become a crucial component for correctly tallying an accurate feedback score.
