Trying to locate a knive my dad had in the navy

My dad says when he was in the navy he had a folding black handle pocket knife, at one end it had a folding blade and at the other it had a spike....something like a C-4 punch or something...looks like a knitting needle. Would appreciate it if you could not only help me identify this but know where I can obtain one for him, would be a great present.

I believe the knife your looking for is a Yachtsman(sp?) and the spike is called a marlin spike used for undoing knots in ropes.

Which navy was he in and when?

The knife you described is pretty much a standard nautical knife with a single blade and a marlin spike. Buck and Camillus still produce similar knives. Check out Camillus models CM-695, CM-696, CM-697.
