trying to post a photo

just started doing digital photography of my knives and thought I'd try to post an image to the forum.

This knife is one I got from Rob Hudson (of PA) at Blade West in Sept 01

thanks Keith but so far I can't seem to get an individual photo to link from my site. I have asked iMIRA the site admin if it can be done but have not had a response that seems to make sense

Sorry, Murray. You should ditch the iMira site. Most times your site gives me a 'timed out' and a red x, or no webpage. I think they need to upgrade their servers.

Having been through the whole photohosting debacle twice, I wince at these unstable sites. Don't waste too much energy in there. But your knives are awesome the ONE time your link let me in!!!

well I'll do some more photos tomorrow and then I think I'll try to get the picture trail site and see if I can use it. Thanks for the kind words and help.

I have moved things to a new site and am now seeing if what I was shown before will work here.

Going to try to put in an image of a Roger Hatt sub-hilt fighter which I just got a week or so ago.

Ok Murray, dunno why it did it this way....but heres how I got your pic posted.

Ok, I clicked on the thumbnail to get the full size. I then right clicked the full size to see the url of where the pic-only was. This is the link shown in properties: http://pic4.picturetrail.com/VOL51/480757/620956/6967331.ptp

I then pasted that link in the address bar. Now, when using that link between the image tags, it gave me the little red 'x' in the box.

Soooo.....just back spaced the .ptp extention off and replaced it with 'jpg'...worked just fine.

Get all that? :)
 
thanks Richard. good old BF chat room. made the changes necessary and now must hit the hay for a while. will take more photos and upload some to the site hopefully soon.
 
Murray, I'm glad to see you moved to Picturetrail, it's a lot faster.

Obviously the way Rich got the link for your picture worked, but with PictureTrail the way they suggest you do it is: Go to the Memebers Area >> More OPtions >> Miscellaneous >> #5 Get URL For Auctions. Make sure the box for I Am An Ebay/Yahoo Auctions User is checked. Copy the URL from beneath the pic that you want.

it has been fun though.
 
You just keep putting more great knives up. Finally got to see the Carter. Very Nice, But the knife that jumped out at me was the Papp figher... and the Martin hunter... and the SRJ drop point... and the Ence boot knife... and the Kressler integral and... lol:D
Lets just say you have a bunch of great knives.

If you havent been able to tell from Murray's collection, he knows alot about knives and he is very generous with his knowledge. He has taught me alot. Although our tastes are pretty different, there is an overlap there and he has influenced my collection alot. Now if we can get him to post more.:)
