Trying to Post Pics

I've managed to put the pics of my knives in my avatar but still unable to post as an attachment?? Its telling me that the file is too large??? Any suggestions?

I use the Kodak easyshare program for re-sizing. What I can't figure out is all my pictures come up as thumbnails?
