I am trying to think of the company that publishes a catalog of all kinds of cool stuff. Emerson Knives to stink bombs to miniature cameras to stuff you put on someones car and it removes the paint. (not that I condone that kind of behavior) IIRC it was black and white and I want to say it started with a 'G'. Havent seen one of these in a couple of years, so I could be wrong.

One other place I am trying to remeber the name of sells high end gifts and gadgets. MP3 players to your own personal derigible and even gold plated monopoly games.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Mo

Yeah. Shomer-Tec. Sure enough there is a G. ;)
Like I said, been a while since I've seen one.

The other isnt sharper image, but I will check out Hammacher Schlemmer.

Thanks, Esav!

It'll date me, but for a moment I thought you were talking about the Johnson-Smith catalog, which I saw in a much modified form a few years ago, or possibly the Edmund Scientific one, which was great for science-y toys like personal dirigibles, gyroscopes, stuff like that. MP3 players would have been just unimaginable in, oh, 1968, when I first saw these.

Could you also be thinking of the Spy Shop catalog? I've seen them advertise here and there--they sell hidden cameras, 24-hour veideo recorders, mics that fit into shoelace tips, stuff like that. Google it up and you'll find one of them--I know I saw a store in Manhattan selling this stuff at one point.

Isn't there a high end department store that features ultraexpensive or odd stuff, like cats bred to have tiger stripes, Cadillacs with ostrich feather seats, $10,000 cell phones, and so on? I'm thinking it's in Houston....?

Neiman Marcus.

Spy Shop was neat. I think they were told to go out of business, though.
