Heya Becker-Peoples!!,

Ah, well..I'm almost certain I've done just about everything (within reason) with my Bk-11.. :-> I need new ideas. Yup.
Battoned. Made it into a grapple. Made it into a gaff-hook. Made it into a spear. Wrapped the handle. Scaled the handle.
Brought it to hair-popping sharpness. Dulled it intentionally. Brought it back. Cut ropes, cords, packages, boxes, food..
Gutted fish/game. Blah. I need something new to try it out with. No, I'm not going to intentionally abuse it so cutting apart bricks and fridges and mowers is out lol. It spends most of it's time laying by a woodstove, and that little booger has shown very little sign of oxidation and only rarely at that. Even the coating is, well, for the most part, still on and able. I've convexed it. Turned entire 2x4s into splinters. Seriously, it just keeps going and going and going! -_- I even seed-popped an Avocado the other day, just to see if it could crack into the seed and pull it out. Yes, I was THAT bored.
Don't like avocado either, blech. It's funny, as often as I've polished the edge, the blade is about as wide as the day I got it.

I've even learned to wrap my finger in the tang's hole while doing kitchen cutting (meats/vegetables/breads/fruits/etc),
and found it can out perform a good chef's knife in my hands, and I like a good chef's knife in the kitchen. ... -_- ... I think I've used that knife far too many times, lol. It does it all, and more. I finally found my ONE knife. Hell, it even has a wire-breaker and cap-popper (which I also use to lift the plates on my woodstove..lol).

Trying to..it's a lil' bit slow..stuck an eraser on the point to protect the keys. Getting faster though... :-D

have you tried getting it a friend to play with? maybe a bigger brother like the 2

I've thought about it, but it's hard to choose. Used it a few min ago to flip ham with in the pan, and wondering if I could turn an egg with it..

You could hang it in a tree, and see how long it would take for the knife to turn into dust.
I think that would be very exciting, if you're patient.

Have you tried taking it out in public to play, or out of it's comfort zone? My BK-11 CSM has been used for lots of things out and about...everything from opening beers to cutting steaks in high end restaurants, and cutting sandwiches at Jimmy Johns, and spreading goat cheese at Italian Bistros. Plus when I was in south Florida it was used to crack open grilled lobsters on picnics, and for opening clams and oysters.

Have you cut the seatbelts in a helicopter as it was crashing and parachute down?

But really you could use it to open up a space shuttle as you were being chased from aliens on a distant planet.

Ok seriously, the real answer is, just keep using it anytime it will be of use, and do more things outdoors to make it useful :)

You you allowed to say that on this forum? ;)

You should have used the blade to harvest a Christmas tree. Have you made any wooden chains, spoon, or train sets? How about carving a chess set? I'm pretty sure I can keep you busy for a little while, just let me know when you are finnished with the above. :)

Use it, with a firesteel to start your grill.

Use it to butcher down a rib-eye roast into steaks.

Use it to open the back of your cell phone to take out the battery.

Use it to cut open the box on your new BK-14.

Use it to cut open the box on your new BK-5.

Use it to cut open the box on your new BK-7.

Use it to cut open the box on your new BK-9.

Use it to cut open the box on your new BK-2.

Use it to cut open the box on your new BK-24.

Have you used it to cut down trees?

Have you used it to harvest switchgrass?

Have you used it as a ruler to measure tracks in the woods or the length of polypropylene tubing you need from the hardware store?

Have you used the handle as a toggle in a marlin spike hitch?

Have you used it to Cut holes in drywall for an electric receptacle?

As a temporary bookmark?

As a butter knife to spread peanut butter?

As a putty knife to spread silicone caulk?

Oh boy, oh boy! New things to try with the 11! Well, no way in hell I'm gettin' in a chopper..lol. Measurements, breaking down meats, open use, I've done those things :-). Never cracked..or even eaten a lobster..or an oyster lol. May have to try those. I'll try em' all, well, except for the chopper thing. Yea...I've cut down trees with it..just didn't wanna bring it up lol. Of course, that also has brought up more ideas for me. Yup, I have used it grilling and even as a bookmark...although it slid out and stuck me in the foot ;-). I've not only spread peanut butter with it, I've eaten it straight out of the jar with it (Trick is to avoid sticking the point into your mouth, and eat off the spine instead lol). I can't wait to find more uses for my 11!! Send more ideas plz!!

Have you made a bow driil set ? , gone swimming with it ? Used it as your only knife for X # of days?
