I've been EDC-ing a Gen 2 GnS, designed by Gabe Suarez, for the past three months. I've had some work done on it recently:
Originally it had black anodized scales and and the o1 steel blade had a black phosphate finish, with black aluminum hardware. The current scales are natural G11 composite, and the blade is a satin/shot peened finish with mustard patina. I replaced the hardware with steel Chicago screws which I etched using ferric chloride.
The original angle of the point was a bit steeper than it is now, also. I was using it to process pork at work and dropped it tip-first on the ceramic tile floor. Took a decent chip out of the very tip, so I had a local shop take 2-3mm off the end, as well as dercease the angle. It punches through meat with comically little effort, when compared to the Shivworks Disciple my wife EDC's, with the new point angle.
