TSF BEAST vs Grayman SATU

I haven't seen nor held either of these two beauties, but wouldn't the Dua be more apt for comparison based on size?

^^^ The beast only has a 3" blade, similar to the Dua. The Satu is much larger. I have owned the Dua and do own the Beast and they are both great knives. You can't go wrong with either IMO.

satu is midtech made by whoever...tsf beast is a custom made by a dude with one hand....i vote BEAST!!!!!

I'm confused how the Grayman is a midtech and the TSF Beast is a custom.

The Beast and Satu are in 2 totally different classes. As far as the Beast goes though, with a blade of only 3" I can honestly say its my favorite small knife

Super beast vs. Satu... I have held a super beast and it feels less sturdy than my full Ti Satu, but that doesn't mean it is. I don't have both, so I can't performance compare. I love my Satu, I've been carrying it all day.

I got a BEAST direct from Jim about three weeks ago. It's an awesome EDC size folder
that packs a lot of knife in a smaller package. Mine is a thicker than the recent models, with the blade being .180 thick. The blade is one of his old style clip points with a new style handle. He built it at my request. Fantastic folder and his customer service is second to none. Great guy who takes care of LEO and Mil personnel. You can also field strip the BEAST without fear of voiding the warrantee.

I have owned both a dua and a beast, and they are both very good knives. however, I much preferred the dua. The beast had sharp edges and was not as comfortable to use, and The grayman just felt more solid. One plus for the beast is a better quality steel, but overall I give the edge to the grayman.

The Beast is pocketable, comes with better steel and heat treat, and is a custom--if you don't like the sharp edges you can send it back to Jim and he will smooth them. I did just that with mine.

Nice and easy to strip and clean and put back together--the Beast is great. But it's relatively compact. The Grayman is much larger.

Had my Beast almost a month now, my Satu is on its way to me. I think, based on measurements, that the Beast is just as sturdy, overbuilt, bulky, whatever you want to call it, despite being a lot shorter in blade and handle both.

Beasts fit in dress slacks and jeans, the Satu may require a belt. I know the Spyderco Military Ti prevents pocket sharing, while I can throw the Beast in my front left pocket with my wallet (clipped to a corner).

Hope this helps!

Never owned a Satu so can't comment. Have owned a Beast, and imho it is by far the best small folder I've ever owned. Sold it cause I needed to pay for a Super Beast. The SB is superb in stoutness and lock up. Opens easily now from using it and closes same. Kind of a thick edge and it is 154cm I do believe. Bought it used but still a very fine folder. Kind of reminds me of the 110 by BUCK. Only better. keepem sharp

Comparing the Beast and the Satu isn't a fair comparison.

I own one of the original TSF Beast's and for a smaller EDC, let me say it truly lives up to its name.

It would be better to compare the Satu with the Super Beast, which is still slimmer than that Satu.

All things considered both the Beast and the Satu are amazing knives and you can't go wrong either way.

I love my TSF Beast and its one of my fav knives to EDC.

My one complaint about the Dua, and I am guessing the Satu, is the finger choil is too far back. Seemed a little awkward to me, I found myself always wanting to put my finger on the flat portion forward of the choil. One of the reason I sold my Dua in favor of the Beast. YMMV
