I've been asked a couple of times to post some pictures of my TSF Thin Beast. I bought this from Dr. Jim at the Oregon show in 2017. I don't know how long he made the thin version or when he started. He told me he started making them because some LEOs wanted a thinner Beast to keep in their vests. As much as I like the Beast, it's a little thick in the pocket and the blade for my EDC (my most carried EDC is a Chaparral).

This knife has the same dimensions as the Beast (by appearance) but has thinner scales and a thinner blade. I can measure if anybody is interested.

Struggle to get good pictures. Will try again when I have more time and better light. In case you can't tell, I really like the scales on this knife. Regular Beast in some shots for comparison.

Last last year I emailed Dr. Jim and he told me he was merging with another company that had a full machine shop, including a CNC. He told me he would be involved in designs going forward and referred me to the partners for support. The TSF site has been down for a few months and I'm eagerly awaiting their return.

Very nice.
I had a regular Beast for a little while which I have since sold/traded away. Probably would have kept it if it was the thin version as the design was clean and build quality was solid.

The action on my Thin Beast isn't as good as my regular one. The regular Beast flies open smoothly and locks up solidly. The Thin Beast is a little stiffer and doesn't fall shut as well. Could be a blade weight issue or something else. Completely usable, just not as confidence inspiring. Once TSF is back up and running I may send it in for some help. In the meantime I'll play with it.

I have wanted one of these regular beasts for a while. The thin version is even nicer imho. These days I really care how a knife carries in my pocket since a folding knife doesn’t get used for hard tasks anyway. Thus how it feels in my pocket is almost more important than how it feels in hand.

Thicker knives are usually more comfortable in hand.

He has been changing shops for a while now.

I contacted him late last year re getting another Beast and he mentioned they were switching shops.

Very nice knife.

Thin beast is a real WIN.
Had a Beast for a short time and though it lived up to the name, was a little thick in the pocket, and blade geometry left some to be desired because of the saber grind and thick blade stock.

The ergos did not work for me, but I feel the Thin Beast will be an improvement for EDC. Now for hard use, definitely get the full thickness as it inspires confidence in the construction.
