How do you put a precise, reproducible convex edge on the Fallkniven A1 Pro? Watch our new YouTube video:

From the video i get the impression that the TSProf creates a new convex edge with an increased edge angle of over 50 degrees inclusive on top of the original convex grind of ~ 30 degrees inclusive.
Or am i seeing things wrong ?

Thanks for the question about the convex edge produced by the TSProf. First, if you will look closely, the other side of the blade is shown at the 59 sec point. There you will see the magic marker line that I used to match the convex edge. Before the video recording, I adjusted the angle and then chose the convexity (7.2 deg) to wipe off as much of the marker from the apex back. I was able to smoothly wipe about 4 mm from apex toward the spine. So, the apex is at the factory grind/polishing of 25 dps. The shiny appearance that you see when I make the sharpening strokes in the video is cleaning and polishing the metal of the blade over those 4 mm. There is no reprofiling going on.

Final comment: The curve that Fallkniven created is effectively a parabola from the apex that then blends into a final flat wedge. The convex lens kit will match the important portion, namely from the apex back a few millimeters.
