Hi all,

I have the TSProf K03 and am looking to see if anyone has need to use more then the 22 deg standard body. I am thinking about getting the Extended Angle Height Adjuster which extends the sharpening angle of up to 36° per side. So far I have not needed the additional height angle.

So the question is do I need the extended angle height adjuster or is the standard 22 deg good for all needs. Has anyone needed the additional angles from 22 - 36 deg?
I also want to get the Universal Convex attachment 4.3, 7.2, 10.7 radius adapter. I was thinking about changing the angle of some of my knives for extending the use before needing to be sharpened.

Is the plastic case worth the money?

Thanks Rich

I have the the following
TSProf K03 starter kit
Small universal table (for scissors) and works great
Whole milled clamps set
Whole milled fillet clamp set
Single fillet clamp
Single clamp
5- Hex head drivers
Custom made Oak base
Digital angle gauge
Venev Orion Diamond F60
Silicone Carbide stones: 120, 240, 600, 1000 ,2500, grit (JIS)
Breeze 4000 grit (JIS)

I wouldn't waste your money on the case just find a shelf on a bench to set it on and call it done, get a box for stones that sell on gritomatic.

As far as the extended angle adjuster goes if your going to be sharpening kitchen knives and pocket knives you won't need it and most people don't need it.

If I were you invest your money into a full set of Venev stones and also get a Suehiro G8 stone that is 8K grit Jis,when you finish sharpening with the Venev 1200 and G8 that is a great combo.

If you didn't get the reinforced springs for your Single clamps get those for sure they are really cheap and reduce the flex to nothing, also if you get the Venev stones get the coarsest silicon carbide or aluminum oxide powder you can find and a 220 and 400 or something like to finish them on glass.

Wade thank you for your reply. I will be placing an order for the reinforced springs, I have yet to use the single clamps yet. But do have a few knives that need the single clamps.

I'll look into the stone box, the early ones from gritomatic were cheaply made as people were complaining about them warping.

So far I let my stones dry over night then put them back in their plastic shipping holder and back in the cardboard box.

Thanks Rich
