Has anyone tried out the Axicube "One" by any chance? It's a free standing inclinometer that seems to work on any slanted angle and measures in all 3 axis, unlike a standard digital angle cube. I can't find much information about it, other than what is in the video below.

Please post any more information about it here if anyone has any more specs/details about it.

I have a couple of the previous generation Axicube-i's and they work well, but can't be used on sharpeners like Hapstone or Edge Pro with sharpening plane angled upwards. The Axicube "One" seems to have that covered.

I contacted Konstantin from Gritomatic to ask about it, and he informed me that they have just received some early bird "Engineering samples" from TSProf so naturally I asked if I could get my hands on one of them. It has not been officially released in the US yet but he said he has a few samples available for interested Bladeforums guys. If anyone wants one, drop him an email directly and you might be able to get your hands on one.

Were you able to get your hands on one? I'd love to try one out. Sent a message in to Gritomatic inquiring about them, but I'm just a nobody with a TSProf so I don't have high hopes lol.

Konstantin from Gritomatic said he has a few available, so I think your chances are good to get hold of one. Any Blade Forums member will have a good chance, it sounds like we will get preference from Gritomatic. Let us know how it goes! I'll have one shipped out with my next order from them.

Well that inspires a little bit of confidence, I'll post an update when I hear back from them!

Just an update...they told me they do have some samples available for $140, but they tend to brick in Blitz/Kadet mode and I have a Blitz 360. They said in K03 and "other" modes they seem fine. Since I didn't even realize the device had different modes for different models, I asked if I could use an "other" mode to measure angles on my Blitz, and they said I would need to use Blitz mode and should wait for an updated version, but couldn't provide an ETA. Sigh. Oh well.

Burt, I love the idea of an angle indicator/inclinometer that mounts perfectly on the side bracket of my Kadet Pro. (Aha! So thaaat's what goes there!;))
I particularly like how it would allow you to monitor any change in angle, immediately.

However, for $140, give or take, that's going to be a tough sell, especially when a $20-$30 angle cube gives perfectly acceptable results.

I agree, the Axicube One is awesome and in a different league to any regular angle cube...but it is quite pricey! If you're careful and know not to use a regular angle cube rotated from the sharpening mid reference (always keeping it perpendicular to the sharpening platform/clamps/knife edge mid-month) then you'll get great results with a regular cube.

I agree that it's quite expensive. One of my favorite things is the size. For example, on my Blitz 360, with my particular angle cube, if my clamps are in the two inner mounting positions, my cube doesn't fit on the platform between them. In other positions, the magnet on the bottom of the cube is just as much/more attracted to the blade as it is the mounting platform, so I have to keep a hand on it. Searches for "mini" angle cubes don't turn up much, and I haven't yet found the motivation to keep trying different brands until I find one that works. iGaging on Amazon does advertise a thickness of .91" which is definitely thinner than the one I have, and I think it would alleviate my problems. Probably still going to be a buyer of the Axicube One when a final model exists that won't brick on me.

Look into an adapter that Gritomatic has for the Blitz 360; I use one on my Blitz and it works great. They don't have it listed but they have a few of them in stock as far as I know. Maybe contact them about it if you're interested. It's a plastic platform that slips and fits perfectly onto the side of your clamp bar and creates a perfect temporary platform to adjust your angle. When you're done setting the angle, you simply slide off & remove the platform and it's out of the way completely. It's a much better solution than the one that TSProf sells for the Blitz 360.
