Hey All

So, after a lot of debate I purchased the TSProf Knife Maker sharpening system. I haven't unboxed it yet, but I am a bit puzzled by one thing.

I ordered the additional set of Four Double Sided Diamond Stones. (Different grit on each side for a total of 8 different grits.) You can see them at this link: https://shop.tsprof.com/home/54-professional-set-of-diamond-stones-4-pcs-100.html

My issue is that I don't understand the actual grit of each stone. Unlike their normal sharpeners, they seem to be measured in "State Standard (ГОСТ) Scale".

The following are the Grits Given:

Stone #1: 3/2 and 1/0 μm
Stone #2: 20/14 and 7/5 μm
Stone #3: 100/80 and 50/40 μm
Stone #4: 200/160 - 160/125 μm

Is there any way to convert these to Grit or some other more recognizable standard? I have found some conversion tables, but they don't seem to go all the way up to the grits of Stone 1 and 2. Any help is appreciated, especially if you can convert these for me.

@MarcCooper if you email me I have an easier chart to understand that I will email to you if you want.

Keep in mind if you got the TSProf diamond stone from 400 grit and up the edge quality will not be the greatest, the Venev stones TSProf sells are all in the original resin and more so the 800 and 1200 stones do not leave that great of a scratch pattern when compared to the Venev OCB stones sold by gritomatic, when I talk about the scratch pattern I'm not talk just about looks I mean more about how it cuts.

You may also want to get reinforced springs for your clamps if you didn't get them, the standard springs flex a good bit and the reinforced hardly flex at all.

I could use that grit chart too, if possible.

For me I just find the way it's laid out not the easiest for me to use,if you email me M Mr.Wizard I can email you the chart I have and you'll be able to see what I mean, the chart I allows you to scroll down threw and find a FEPA-F 1200 grit stone then just look over and see what that rating compares to in Japanese.

If you visit my website, www.statesllc.com, you will find that I have listed the grit equivalents as well as the micron spec for the diamond stones.
