I'm thinking of getting the ti guide rod for my K03. I like the idea of it being lighter than the standard one. Anyone have any experience with it?

I use a hard anodized aluminum rod on mine with small aluminum stone holders on my sharpener and only want it to get lighter. The less weight in your stone holder and stone the more you realize how much pressure you are using. They are readily available on the big manufacturer's e-commerce website, pm me if you want to know where. There is a US company that makes linear bearing stuff who make ceramic coated aluminum rods that would work too. Imperial and metric sizes are available from both and cut to length.

This is very interesting, and I'd really like to get one.

I've noticed my rod is too heavy for my liking. Particularly when trying to strop with low pressure. I think the lighter the better.

I will try and find one of these and give it a go.

I bought one from Gritomatic a couple of weeks ago. It is much lighter than the steel one and also gives way more feel.
