Two matters I'm curious about. (one) that signature AL Marlocking system that puts the spring release tab on the back/spine/shoulder of the folder. That half-moon of s/s showing, that must be pressed in order to release the locking bar, unlock the lock, close the blade, is bisected, at a 90 degree angle, by the bottom border of the knife's bolster, if bolster there be.
I'm sure I saw, long past, articles telling the rationale for the AMK's lock being placed where it is, how to operate it smoothly, et al. Unfortunately, I don't recall the logical basis, I don't know the best way to operate my AMK Eagle, and I find the (strong, stiff) lock to be very inconvenient to operate, slow to activate. Because the finely-crafted AMK has a strong spring, and because of the oddly-placed unlock button, I cant figure out how to put enough presure on the half-moon 'unlock' button to release the blade from its open position reliably, quickly. A great disadvantage to the knife, I feel. (Though I will still love and cherish forever my Eagle.)
