Has anyone had any expereince with the cheap tubing notcher offered by Harbor Freight? I don't really need any type of accuracy, just accurate enough to notch a tube and get a decent fit on another.

All I really need is something to help me pracitce my welding. I got bored of welding up "T"'s from flat steel, and was thinking of trying some tubing setups, still learning you know. I was trying to make the notch myself by hand with a bench grinder, Dremel etc., and got nowhere fast. Thanks for any input.

Erik, try usin a vise and a hole saw in a drill press (if you have one). That's pretty much all one of those notchers are. I've done this before with limited results, and although it will work well for one or two projects, you'll tire of it... or give up on the idea of doing round tubing altogether! :p
