AKCA Tucson Knife Show
May 7 & 8 2005
Tucson Convention Center
Perfect Weather, come by and visit

Take a spare finger to work, stick it on a pizza and voila', everyone gets to go home when they close the store for the police investigation. All lifes problems can be solved with just a bit of creative thought!
Phonecians, New, and Old, Mexicans, Southern Californians , come on over and join the fun and enjoy the perfect weather. While downtown the Cafe Poca Cosa, Tucsons best tasting food joint, is the place to go for lunch. It's just about two blocks east of the knife show. I'm goin'!

Here is Saturdays scoop. The show floor seemed quite busy and sales seemed to start early. Here are some photos:

Bob Karp, knife thrower extraordinaire, opens the afternoon session with a very well done rendition of "God Bless America".

Paul Basch with a few offerings from Arizona Custom Knives, a Bob Lay bowie and one of Jerry Hossoms big fighters.

....and more pics.

Bill Ruple with a 5 minute supply of his knives.
You have to know what tables to hit first at these shows. There were many other purveyors with Ruple knives for sale when Bill exhausts his supply. Or if you felt lucky there was a Ruple up for grabs in the raffle.

Bladeforums own , seldom heard from, Voltaire (aka Charles Prokopp) with some nice Med. Dirks in the foreground and a massive Bowie, near him, that he was good enough to bring to Tai Goos last Moonlight Hammerfest.

John Leitch, a new resident of Tucson via Sante Fe, with some great gents knives. The picture is a poor representation and I apologize. Great designs and some absolutely fantastic MOP folders.

"So where can I keep all my knife show booty?", you Pirates ask. Well Mark and Lorraine Hansen have some boxes that will knock your sheaths off.I have not seen any better looking storage devices anywhere. Mine is going to be Mesquite. Check this out http://www.HansWood.com/

Lucas Burnley ( and amigo) came in from Al- B -Q with some of his fine work.He is fairly new and his prices are very very good. This wont last long once he gets more exposure. Really great stuff.

Other great knives all around from the likes of Rich Hale, Dan Zvonek, Ken McFall, C.J. Deubel, D' Holder, Bob Dodd, Bob Purvis and plenty more. The purveyors were well represented too including my pal Richard from Bladerunner Knives here in Tucson. Some great deals and always a lot of drooling.
