From what I've heard so far, the tufcloth seems to be quite good for knife caring, but I just wondered, if there are any substances in the fluid, that.... well would not be poison, but let's say harmful if you spread it on your sandwich together with the mayo. (Allright, I know you should use stainless for food)

I had this question about a year ago, and eventually I emailed Sentry Solutions. They told me that since one of the ingredients is mineral spirits, it is much safer to wash the Tuf-Cloth from the blade before using it on food. They said that, once it's dry it should technically be safe, it's still better to be safe than sorry.

So when I use a folder on food, I use an SAK, which needs no Tuf-Cloth, and the knives I use Tuf-Cloth on, I don't cut food with.

Mineral spirits are a hazmat from what I understand. You shouldn't breathe it too often or leave it on your skin. You definitely shouldn't eat it

Keep in mind also that some poisons are not at all obvious. Aluminum and mercury, for example, can do progressive damage without showing any outwards signs at all.

Unless the FDA shows that rats can munch the stuff in huge batches, I would never risk it. Health is composed of too many precarious balances.
