tuf cloth

rickrick...you will compromise the tuffglide your tuffcloth is impregnated (can I say that here?) with. I wipe blades dry if they have a "strange" petroleum product on them before the tuffcloth treatment. md

PS, welcome to the forum....

Welcome rickrick: Absolutely clean the blade and then use the Tuf-Cloth. You have to allow the "active ingredients" in the Tuf-Cloth to reach the surface of the metal. Also, the Tuf-Cloth will leave a "clean" surface that will not attract dust, grit, etc.

I've been using tuf-cloth/tuf-glide for several years. By far it is the best lubricant/rust preventive that I've ever used. Having oil on a knife when you're going to use Sentry Solutions just gets in the way and messes up your cloth if you're using one. If you're using Sentry Solutions for the first time on knife, gun, anything, wash with warm water with dish detergent. That will get dirt and oil of all kind off of it. Dry completely, then use Sentry Solutions. If you're not comfortable with it, use it twice. Did you know, those guys have a tank with salt water in it, with a Colt .45 in it. When I saw it, it was in there about 18 months, with no sign of rust.
It can be rubbed off, say you wipe down your pistol, then practice your drawing technics for awhile, you will rub streaks off the gun.
It's the only thing that I can put on bead-blasted ATS-34 and not worry about it rusting in between shows.

Greetings, Rickrickoshay, & welcome to Blade-forums! It appears you've been registered for a month or so B4 posting: i think many here "lurked" & learned, B4 climbing aboard. I just got my first Tuf-Cloth last week, so good question you've asked. Thanks!
