How are you tuff owners making out with the 3v blades and corrosion? I live in Florida and have issues with even stainless blades spotting over time, so I have been babying my tuff, as in not carrying it on rainy days and on days I'll be outside working up a sweat.

It's kind of annoying because I can't be as tough on my tuff because I'm worried about it corroding, lol! Is this all in my head? Has anyone had any issues with the blade rusting or spotting yet?

I carried it one hot day at work, and when I took it out of my pocket that evening it had tiny rust spots on the blade. I was a little surprised because even though I was sweating, I didn't get it wet with water and only had it in my pocket for about 5 hours. I've never had any other knife of mine rust even when I carry them all summer long. I coated the blade with a Tuf rag so hopefully that prevents any future rusting.

Good question, no rust issues yet with mine, but was thinking
of forcing a patina on the entire blade since I'll be using it in a
wet climate zone. Anyone do this yet to their tuff?

Mine is 2 weeks old and no problems so far. I'm not a fan of forcing a patina, so I will just use mine and keep an eye outfor rust til it develops it's own patina.

Get some FluidFilm. I live in a heavy humidity area too (very similar climate to Florida) and tried everything. Best results I had were with a lanolin based anti-corrosive because it doesnt evaporate. ALL the others evaporate over time.

Tuff 3V and Vascowear/cruwear ( older uncle of 3V) will pit if left long enough. Still, they aren't as corrosion prone as plain high carbon steels like 1080/85/1095, etc.

I use silicone when running around using the knife, making sure to wash off any corrosive elements before putting the knife away ( even finger smears contain salt) Then I wipe it down with a silicone gun cleaning cloth from box store gun cleaning sections ( $2.99 to 3.99). I also use clear liquid silicone from AG russell. It's great!

Lastly, I use paste wax ( renn wax) for storing. I keep the box and sleeve the knife came with and don't store knives in leather sheaths.

I have about 7 3V, and equal number of vascowear/cruwear and they are all in excellent condition, no staining or corrosion noticed,

Joe

YOu could force a patina. That is what I did to my M4 Gayle Bradley. Since you live in Florida, you have essentially the same climate as we do here in Louisiana. Hell, sometimes it's so damn humid you could rust rust. Patina is the best option in my opinion.
