Nice. Did you pick it up off the exchange? I always kind of regret not picking one up when they were available. The ergonomics are amazing and I really like 3v. Tough, easy to sharpen and takes a great edge!

ya i did i have a bark river bravo 1 that i do my hunting with 3v and its great this will be a good knife to have in the side pocket .

I like the Tuff a lot, and I doubt if I will ever get rid of it, but I rarely carry mine... I am not much into folding pry bars, and this is my only one. :o

It is ridiculously overbuilt :D. It is absolute overkill for EDC use, like using a case of dynamite to fish in a pond instead of a light rod. But that is the beauty and appeal of it. The Military is by far the more useful and practical EDC knife IMO.

The Tuff is the black sheep in my collection, but I still love it for the unique design and materials, excellent build quality and rock solid feeling in the hand. :)

I never could get past the small amount of sharpened edge compared to the overall length.

I had/have a real problem with the length of the cutting edge. The choil is TOO BIG.

I had a regrind done on my Barong and gained .5-.75 cutting edge.

Classic Schempp ergos.
The negative blade angle.
The choil and grip. Choil size is perfect if wearing work gloves.
I really like mine, but I do agree with Brock O Lee.

At one point I kind of wanted to grind the spine off into a Bowie type shape like the Navaja, but have since decided to leave it perfect as is. :)

I'd like to see more knives offered in 3V, and also 4V.

It's a great knife.
People that don't get why the choil is the size it is just don't get it.
I suggest those folks just don't buy the knife, as it will only annoy them, and remove another from circulation...making it harder for me to get another one in the future.

I held one for the first time in the SFO last year. I LOVE the oversized choil and the ergonomics in general. I like the ergos on pretty much all of Ed's knives though.

Before I bought one, I struggled whether to pick it up or not. It's one of my favorite Spyderco's.

Great pickup man. The tuff is my absolute favorite knife. One I will never get rid of and she's about to get pimmped up soon. I may be in the minority but I like it's form and function over any other knife I've come in contact with. Spyderco and Mr. Schempp hit it out of the park with this knife. It's a beast, handles any task, cuts great and 3v steel is my all-time favorite steel I've used. I work hvac and I have cut wire, hose, duct, thin sheet metal, fiberglass, wire ties and the list goes on and have only needed to touch it up with fine stones a few times.*
Some will say it's heavy, yes it is but I like my work knives to have heft to them. It actually carries well. If it's a new one with little use it it going to take time to break it in. They are stiff as hell new. I have mine broken in to finger flick now and it took some time to get it that way. It's not a slicer that's for sure but I've used it numerous times for camping, food prep fishing etc. Plus the damn thing is just so impressive looking I have gotten numerous compliments and a few scared looks( it's not a knife to whip out on the sheepeople)*
All in all I think you will love it but give it plenty of time to grow on you. Trust me it will...Only regret is I should have bought another before Spyderco discod it. Damn things are pricey.. Enjoy the Tuff and use the SH#t out of it. It lives up to its namesake..peace

I guess I could also add, besides loving the 3V and wanting more of that AND 4V from spyderco,
I also REALLY like the Tuff. I have 2. I usually carry two folders when I'm doing chores - a military for slicy or point-needing duties, and a Tuff for the "hard" forceful cutting duties. Sometimes I swap it out for my GB1, because that is also a great tool, but when wearing gloves the Tuff for sure gets the call (because the GBs are harder to open and close with gloves on).
