Found a load of Tufnol in work (basically a canvas and phenolic resin laminate similar to Micarta) and I decided to try some out as bolster material. I've seen some cracking examples around somewhere, in which its been used as a bolster on full tangs...so I though why not on a stick tang.
It worked okay and the finish was not too shabby...although it stinks something 'orrid!!
So, using my fav Polar blade, birch bark and the most 'dusty' Masur Birch block I've ever worked, this is what I turned out:
I left the handle kinda long
And the money shot
Comments and criticisms very welcome.
Thanks for looking
ps. Its so hard to gauge where things live on this forum so I hope its in the right place and is appreciated here.
