Have any BF members out there tried a product called the Tumbler? It's a sharpening tool found at tumblerware.com

Stay safe, birdave.

a coworker got one recently. I tried it on an out the box kizer beglieter and the 20 degree angle did not reach the edge.
I like the concept, but have concerns about the abrasive being used perpendicular to the edge, but maybe I'm over thinking it.

it was very simple to use and under some magnification I could see where it was removing material from the bevel behind the edge with just a couple minutes of use.
I will probably test it further on some beater knives once they get a chance to use it a bit.

Bulky, slow, limited versatility, and a host of other nitpicks. If you're really appealing to the lowest common denominator of knife users, you might as well use a motorized drag-through culinary knife sharpener. For more serious users there's either guided systems that work better and take up less space with only slightly more of a learning curve to them, or various guides for folks learning to freehand.

There have been topics about this type of sharpener before. It's not a new idea. It's been manufactured and sold by multiple different companies. There are at least 3 right now. Work Sharp is one of them. This type of sharpener has never really gained in popularity.

Thanks to All who've weighed in, it's appreciated.
