I've found it.

These are earbudish kinda headphones. However, they firmly insert in the ear and the cord is designed to be drawn tight behind the head. They seal out sound. Much better results than using noise cancelling electronics.

Just got done with a 24 hours of flying. These are a must have for travel. More effective than the Boise and cheaper.

They come with 6 different ear inserts (three rubber and three foam). They don't wiggle out like others and there's no dangerous cord dangling around your arms. It sinches up tight behind your neck. Put the MP3 player in your back pocket and grind away.

I've heard good things about those, too. I don't know anything about them beyond what I've read, but you may want to try your local electronics store or Walmart and look at the ones Koss makes. They have a tight fitting silicone bud, too, and are only $15. May work out okay for you, although they may also be complete garbage, so it's just a suggestion! I have read rave reviews about the E2C's, though.

I don't think I'll buy the Koss, since I already own the E2C's.

I've tried the Sony 'fit in your ear' jobs with noise cancelling. They don't fit solid, the cord is a mess, and they cost more.

I tried a pair of Bose on the plane. They're nice, but not as good. With the E2C's I can look right at the flight attendant while she's talking to me and not hear a thing. Fussy babies are a non-issue.

Don't even wear them while driving or walking on a street.

For what it's worth, I've had several pairs of Koss headphones, from earbuds to big sterio phones and all of them were pretty good, not audiophile phones, but decent. I haven't bought any lately so I can't say anything about current quality, but I haven't seen or heard anything bad about them either.

My tunes while grinding consist of a big audio system. All I need to do is crank it up! :D

Jeff Buddy, I'm 45 with permanent ear ringing. It's loud enough that I can't hear people properly. I live with it night and day. I don't know if I got it from loud music or from the firing range, but I've got it.

Trust me. Ear protection is worth it.
