After Karl posted his bird I thought I'd better show off the ones I called in for my grandsons.

I'm noticing the lighter colored band on the fan compared to the one Karl posted. Are those OK birds Merriams? Gotta love Turkey hunting.
Ken.

KC,

These are Rio grande turkeys in my part of OK.
I think Karl's bird is an eastern.

Nice. We never used to have turkeys up this way till they introduced them. Now they are seemingly everywhere. There are most always a few of them in our driveway when we leave in the morning.

Awesome.
Not only was my bird "Eastern", he has now been "eaten"!
What a phenominal success of the NWTF.
Not that many years ago, maybe 8-9, our county in central Illinois hadn't seen a turkey since probably the 19th century.
Now, we have thousands of birds and spring and fall seasons.
I was a committee member and banquet Chairman when we were having fund raisers and didn't even have a season yet!
With the help of the DNR, and other members, with only three different releases of 12 birds each, we are now blessed with a healthy population of birds.
Of course, if you ask the anti-hunter, we're just murderers.
Personally, I'll murder one every chance I get!!
Way to go, Greg.

Unless you are going to put those fans on the wall, you would make a flytier very happy to have those feathers!
Also.....beautiful bounty!
