I have done some research, and I really don't know what I'm looking for exactly. What kit / ghetto engineering can I get to transform my beloved e2o Surefire into an LED. The run time is too short compared to my other lights, and I just want that Surefire goodness back in the rotation. And, I've seen $100+ conversions, but I could just buy a new light!

Any ideas, suggestions.

Thanks - RLR

Well, the new KX2 head from Surefire is something else. Turns the light into a dual-output model. Click once for low (3 lumens for a looong time), twice for high (60 lumens, tops out the old E20 by a longshot). Runs about $66.

i did the same with a E2e i put a KL1 or KL4 head on it (i ended up with both dont ask how lol) and prefer the much brighter KL4, but the KL1 is brighter than i had figured.

only con is cost, the KL1 isnt too bad IIRC ~$50 but the KL4 runs over $100.

i would look on candlepower forum and see if i could find a used one, or maybe a used L4 lite, maybe just buy a new LED surefire.

oh the KL1 is 35 lumens IIRC while the KL4 is 100.

Thanks for the info folks... I figure I'll use it incan around the house. It's just the nicest "feeling" light I have.

I have the L1 Lumamax and love it. The e2o is just lonely in the desk now :(

Don't forget the OpticsHQ.com conversion heads. They are under the accessories area.

Then there is an led "drop-in" to replace the bulb (look on Candlepower forum for it).

I use KL1 heads with F04 beam shapers on my E2 series lights.

Get the KX2 head.
It has a cree led that is much better than the KL1 Luxeon led.

The new E2L comes with the KX2 head.

Candlepowerforums is the best site for private party sales.
