Natural Outlaw! Picked this one up on the exchange the other day. Why did I wait so long?!!

After a trip through the blast cabinet

And then with a fresh coat of oil

I love the feel of this blade

Sweet blade--and great job! Is that the NMSFNO? Maybe I'm getting the variants mixed up... in any case, excellent score!

Yes I believe it is the NMSFNO. It definitely has the nuked spine. I haven't had the other variants. Do you know if any of the others had the nuclear meltdown treatment?

None I recall, unless they were "Custom Shop"--you've got yourself a really coveted blade. Was the seller aware it was the NMSFNO? Again, great score.

Out of curiosity, what's the weight and spine thickness on that bad boy?

Looks good, bro. Gotta get me a blast cabinet.

Hey H! Good to see you!

Yeah, I believe so. He said he picked up another one and so was selling this one. I just knew I wanted to try something from Jerry with this style handle. I just sent it in to Eric Lind for a sheath so I don't have it here to measure, but it is significantly lighter and also thinner than the nmfsh and cgfbm. I snapped a comparison picture of the three (preblast) that should be uploaded here in a minute that I'll post.

Nice blade for sure.
Honestly, I've looked at em all and this is the first time I thought, "Man I really like that blade enough I could see that down the road" As I scrutinize and refine what appeals to me, it's the first time I thought, there's a NO I could do for sure. I like it that much. I believe that's a fairly scarce config is it not???

Is that the one you got from me? If so, you did a great job on it! It looks like a whole new blade!

Edit: just noticed the pre-blast pics... yep, it’s the same one! Glad you are enjoying it... like I said, it had been one of my absolute favorites. I am always happy seeing one of my babies in a good new home. :D

I'm just not sure. I never chased the Natural Outlaw series like the mistresses or steel hearts. It doesn't seem like too many get listed on the exchange, so maybe there are not a ton of them out there? When Tim Apocryphiliac Apocryphiliac listed this one, I knew he was a good seller (quality individual all around actually ) and so I jumped on it. Very glad I did.

That's it brother! I wanted a little more grip on that well-used handle so I decided to give the whole thing a once-over. It will show use marks more readily after the bead-blast, but the great thing is that you can just run it back through and freshen it up whenever you like. I'm glad we were able to make a deal on this one T. Always a pleasure dealing with you!

Likewise, buddy!

My dream knife is a NMSFNO Light Brigade...
More NOs, the better, so I am definitely not against this idea, but at the same time, I think I would kind of like to see a “regular” NO get the LB treatment, since it is in generally a more stout blade (shorter and thicker). The NMSFNO is kind of perfect to me, in terms of heft and length. It chops like a demon for a blade its size, but it is still well-balanced and nimble. The full flat grind with zero edge and meltdown treatment means it can cut small-medium branches like a laser which allows for clearing brush and fire building pretty much effortlessly, and I’m not sure it would do as well in these tasks if it didn’t have at least the modest weight that it does. That is just my theory though. I would be more than willing to try any new NO designs. ;)

Yes I believe you are correct about the sheath. Brain fart. That NMSFNO came with the sheath. I have had Eric make me a number of sheaths (a couple for ASH1s and a Bushwacker) plus several knives I bought accompanied by them.
