Just keep it slow. The heat is what kills the tools. Carbide tooling helps a lot, and used with coolant is the way to go.

When I turn or mill stainless I use a Kool-Mist rig with #77 in it.

SS work hardens so you need to make sure that you are always 'cutting' not 'rubbing'. Sharp tools, lube,slower speed than you think necessary and a little higher feed.
