How do I get that dark stonewash to look like the sexy bright satin? Anybody ever done it?

I appreciate that but It’s not anodized. It’s just stonewashed, meaning I’m more than likely going to have to start sanding. I was just hoping someone here who has done it already could give me a few pointers or at least point me in the right direction.

I'm wondering if the Wink will remove the discoloration?

If it does, you could go straight to polishing it out. Might be worth a try, or you'll have a lot of sanding and polishing to do.

Maybe see if there's someone local, that does laser rust removal. That might work also.

You could also have the scales sand blasted. Just be sure to tell them to use aluminum oxide or glass beads.

Way of Knife offers a service called Silver Surfer Laser Polish / Nude Conversion for a reasonable price. Certainly worth checking it out.

Simple bead blasting should do it.
It will get scratched up again.
Do not sand it! Sanding leaves lines-no matter how fine. You could sand it and then buff it, but then it will be shiny.

That would be ideal but Unfortunately I don’t have a bead blaster.

If you don't have a bead blaster, you're going to have a very hard time getting that finish.
You can buy a cheap rock tumbler and some sand. Tape the back of the scales with masking tape if you aren't using liquid.
