Told you so.

This is my pet turtle, Emily. (Named after Emily Dickinson.)

She likes to snuggle up against my AirPort wireless network hub because it's warm. (Bow-chicka-bow-bow) It's so funny. Figured I'd share. :D

Cool :)
Does it usually live outside or you have a terrarium? What kind of turtle is it?

 .I think so too!
I believe Emily is a box turtle.
Growing up as a boy in Texas I had one that laid eggs, she loved lettuce and sliced veggies.

:D

I've had a couple of turtles. They're actually pretty fast if you let them go on the floor :D If you're not willing to part with your AirPort, you might go to the local ripoff pet store and get a heated fake rock for $15 or so. My turtles and iguanas loved those. Now that I think about when I had those types of critters, I also remember all of the mites that used to come with the mulch bedding

If you haven't done it yet, they love earthworms. Believe it or not crickets are another of their favorites, I loved watching mine chase them around. Before you feed them crickets though, it's a good idea to "gutload" them by feeding them special food that makes them more nutritious to your turtles/lizards/whatever. Many people don't know this either, but they will eat carrion on the side of the road when they get the chance. Way back when I worked at a pet store, I knew a lady that brought a starving box turtle back to health by letting it eat roast beef. You never never what they'll eat. (btw, roast beef isn't great for them.... They will eat pinkies though.)

Yeah, she'll eat just about anything, but preferrs the cat's food.

We have a terrarium, but I let it run the house about 75% of the time. Once or twice a week or so I put her in her tank with a can of Fancy Feast Fish and Shrimp cat food with some calcium vitamins sprinkled on the tip. Then, I wait about 24hrs for it to pass through her system and let her out again. She'll "forage" and pick up crumbs off the carpet and kitchen floor. Get into the dry cat food...

Funny story...
Our cat usually wakes us up in the morning to feed her. Well, one day she was PARTICULARLY insistant - "Help, help, Timmy fell down the well" insistant! So my G.F. got up and followed the cat. The turtle was stuck upside down in the cat's water dish. We couldn't believe it. The cat saved the turtle's life. She would have drowned.

Animals are strange. We have a cockatiel too, who's allowed "out" also. They all get along great.

Hmmm.... sort of reminds me of the turtle kama sutra.

Try propping up one of these pics by your wireless hub and watching the excited turtle go!
